A Cold is a mild viral infection that affects the nose, throat, sinuses and upper airways.They are very common and usually clear up within a week or two.
Flu is a common infectious viral illness which is spread by coughs and sneezes, it can be very unpleasant but usually clears up on it's own within a week or two.
Our Doctors would like to remind you that there is no cure for colds or flu. They cannot prescribe antibiotics as they do not work on viruses.
Our Doctors do recommend having a flu jab to help avoid these symptoms.

These clinics are for the routine vaccinations of babies and young children. The clinics are run by the Practice Nurses. The first baby vaccination at 8 weeks of age is usually booked with the doctor.
Antenatal and postnatal services are available at all surgeries. Please ask for details at reception.
Most aspects are available, including fitting of coils and implants. Advice is available from the nurse or doctor.
These can be booked with the Practice Nurse.
Different doctors have different specialities. Please ask for details at reception.
Our practice Nursing Team run regular clinics.
Patients should make an appointment with the Diabetic Doctor annually and an appointment with the Diabetic nurse between annual appointments.
An appointment can be made with the Practice Nurse for advice on stopping smoking.
Appointments can be made to see a Practice Nurse if you would like advice on losing weight.
Are normally held monthly with Dr Buckley or Dr Rajagopal. You may be added to a waiting list and later contacted with the dates and times of the clinic.
There are some services that we provide that are not covered under the Health Service and for these there is a charge. These include: Private Medical Certificates, Driving Medicals, Employment Medicals and Reports, Health Insurance Reports, Claim Forms, passport validation and certain vaccinations. A full list of the fees are displayed at both Practices.
We no longer provide any travel clinics at the surgery.

If you are needing a blood test, you shall be told by a clinician at the surgery that you require one. The clinician will then provide a blood form for you, to take with you. Please ensure that you take your blood form with you when getting a blood test.
We now have a Health Care Assistant Niomi MacDermid-who is now able to take your bloods. Call a member of our reception team to get booked in with her today!
Where To Get Your Blood Test Done:
You can request to book into an appointment with our Health Care Assistant, who will take your bloods at Church Avenue surgery.
Alternatively there is a walk-in clinic at Harrogate Hospital.

The clinic at Harrogate Hospital is located on the ground floor near the entrance.
You can also now get your bloods taken at Sainsbury's Supermarket on Wetherby Road.

If you think you have broken a bone, we recommend you to go straight down to your local hospital's A&E department.
If you are in an appointment with a Doctor and they need you to have an X-Ray they will provide you with a form to take down to the hospital with you and get an X-ray done.
There is a walk-in-clinic for X-Rays at Harrogate Hospital.
